In the early stages of Missalina Rei, Aya began as the vocalist and Arisu on bass before the two members switched positions. In their first year, they released an album entitled Gekka Hakurei, which was probably one of the hardest in rock sound that they released in their career.
By November, change had come upon Missalina Rei and it was evident in their sound which had drastically changed to a much livelier and light sound. TO*KI*ME*KI is the first release Missalina Rei produced where the change is most prominent.
Guitarist Hiro retired after this band.
